clone hard drive from dish DVR 522

I have a dish network DVR 522 that I am trying to clone over to a new drive to save my recordings before the drive totally crashes ( I may be too late- there is much of a stop-and-go thing going on in playback). I tried Norton Ghost , but it didn't"t work because of compatibility issues I think. Any suggestions?

Why are you storing on a temporary storage media? DISH Hard drives are notorious for crashing.

You might look at the Yahoo group DishRip.

I believe the 625 and 522 are the only SD DVR's that have not been "disabled" by Dish for ripping by garbling the audio.
