Am I correct in assuming matching transponders scanned in to satellite charts is the best way to know which satellite I’m aimed at?

Am I correct in assuming matching transponders scanned in to satellite charts is the best way to know which satellite I’m aimed at?

That's what works for me. Aim in the general direction using info from Dishpointer website, blind scan once I get a 'hit' with my meter then compare to known frequencies in the charts. Adjust dish as needed.
