DIRECTV Transponder Map ~ Data 5/14/2025

Is there a way to post what's testing on the stream servers like is posted on the satellites every Wednesday ?
Our present Datadigester team has enough work in keeping this satellite transponder map going, in addition to managing the Cuttting Edge Forum.

If someone else wants to provide a similar service for the DirecTV Stream side, that would be great.

Since I'm not totally up on these games, are there any regional blackout restrictions on these extra ION game channels?
I would guess they are blacked out if you have a local Ion station that's carrying a regional game. But I'm not sure if it applies to the Inyo/Scripps-owned stations that DTV carries, or non-carried subchannels (like your station, WAND-DT3).

There's only one local game this week, so only 305-2 WNBAION2 is in use for Dream @ Mystics. The Lynx @ Wings are the national game on the main Ion feed for the debut of Paige Bueckers, followed by Sparks @ the debuting Valkyries. The raw feeds for WNBAION1 and WNBAION3 are just showing a promo loop for Ion.

Next week 305-1 WNBAION1 will have Mystics @ Aces and 305-2 WNBAION2 will have Valkyries @ Sparks, the main feed will have Sun @ Lynx followed by Mercury @ Storm. 5/30 will likely be the first week that has 305-3 WNBAION3 in use since there's a local game at 7:30pm and 2 regional games at 10pm. 6/6 and 6/13 are national doubleheaders, the remaining weeks are TBD for which games will be national vs local/regional.

Also, most likely because of an oversight when migrating data over from the previous app, satellite customers STILL can't stream 305 Ion East out of home, even though they can stream the WNBAION channel.

Ion has the exclusive rights to all WNBA games on Friday nights. On 5/30, Sun @ Fever followed by Sparks @ Aces are the "national" games. The 7:30pm Liberty @ Mystic game is "local", the 10pm Lynx @ Mercury and Dream @ Storm games are "regional"

National = the game airing on the national feed and on most Ion stations
Local = only the DMAs of the teams playing get the game on their local Ion station
Regional = Available in more markets
All local and regional games will be carried by the WNBAION channels.

Some of the Scripps Sports stations also carry the games in markets where Ion is a subchannel. Like tonight Utah 16, Idaho 6 and West Palm Beach 9 are carrying Lynx @ Wings while Tucson 58 and MTN Montana are carrying Dream @ Mystics. Next week Vegas 34 is carrying Mystics @ Aces while the rest of them are carrying Mercury @ Storm. Tampa Bay 66 will likely join them in July when WXPX goes independent in preparation for the Lightning and Ion moves to 66.2.

The current WNBA rights deal doesn't have a fairness/balancing clause so the rest of the national rights holders (Prime, CBS/CBSSN, ABC/ESPN/ESPN3, NBATV) selected the Fever whenever possible this year. Only their 7/5 game is currently scheduled to be WTHR only, but they'll have some other games on WTHR, FanDuel Indiana and/or MeTV Indianapolis (WALV-CD 46.1/WTHR 13.3) that will co-exist with the NBATV, Prime, ESPN3 and CBSSN telecasts. The rest of the teams have a mix of games that are only televised by their local stations or RSNs:
Aces - KMCC
Dream - WPCH
Liberty - WWOR
Lynx - FanDuel North
Mercury - AZ Family Sports (only Phoenix's KAZF is carried, the Tucson station is subchannel only, while the Yuma station KAZS is still in test mode)
Mystics - Monumental
Sparks - Spectrum SportsNet
Sky - Marquee
Storm - KUNS
Sun - NBC Sports Boston
Valkyries - KPYX Bay Area and KMAX Sacramento
Wings - KFAA

Also, satellite customers still can't stream WPCH (Gray CW), WWOR (MyNet O&O), KUNS (Sinclair CW), or KPYX/KMAX (CBS independents). They can stream Gray's KAZF, Scripps's KMCC and Tegna's KFAA thanks to the Suns, Golden Knights and Mavericks.
