Not well. (or I need to do it again)The Harmony Hub piece is already working.
Alexa can turn on or turn off and any Activity you defined for a Harmony Hub. If you have an activity named Dish TV, simply say "Alexa turn on Dish TV" and your equipment will respond as if you touched the Dish TV Activity screen on your Harmony remote.
It will also tune to specific stations. About the only thing I noticed missing is volume control.
Volume control is already present as well. I simply say, "Alexa tell Harmony to <increase the volume/decrease the volume/mute the volume>
So the Harmony Hub is needed, not just a Harmony remote. Sigh.
*Alexa is compatible with Logitech Harmony Elite, Companion (formally Home Control), Smart Control, Ultimate, Ultimate Home, and Harmony Hub.
Well I am looking forward to the hilarious / horrible stories of recursive false commands being sent and heard by this new system. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/san-diego-anchor-accidentally-orders-dollhouses-for-viewers/183798
Unlike in the story, the Hoppers will be responsible for not only hearing false commands, but also issuing false commands to themselves.![]()
After a little research, there are actually two Harmony skills. The one I have been using takes the command 'Alexa turn on the TV'. That one only supports 'Turn On' and 'Turn Off' commands. The other skill supports other functions but requires 'Alexa tell Harmony to.....'.
Yes but alexa gives you a price and asks for confirmation before ordering. What I don't u understand is why it ignores commands I alexa commercials.
Anyone know if this is comming to the joey?
