Dish Network 2007 Wishes For Hd

So what kind of HD Channels do you want from Dish Network for the 2007.

How about the remaining Voom channels as Dish has only release 15 of the 20 they originally had.

The other 5 no longer exist. They were merged into the remaining channels. Besides that is the last thing I would want. The Voom channels are not all they are cracked up to be (to me). I would much rather have my RSN in HD, A&E HD and MHD.

When did the remaining 5 Voom channels get merged and I would agree that some of the Voom channels aren't the best as a lot of the programming is repeated a lot.

IIRC they changed some of them from the original names/formats when they added the remaining 5. I am 99% positive that the others don't exist anymore.

Sci Fi
History
History International
Military History Channel

And INHD.

Hehe, thanks Navy. I was pretty sure, but hate to talk in certainties unless I know. I agree I would love to see History make an HD channel. That would get a large amount of my viewing time.

I wish that E* would increase the bitrate and resolution on those channels that were down-rezzed to improve picture quality. This is the perfect time to do this so they can be the leader in TRUE HD. They better do something before D* acquires additional satellites for HD programming. I suspect, 2007 might be an interesting year for HD.

Hey, if the History Channels were in HD, I'd be watching almost nothing in SD anymore.

Dish needs to come up with some bandwidth/transponders. HD is not HD unless it is full res! Not sure if AMC has anything else to lease or what Dish plans to do but it could get ugly. I fear 2007 may be what 2006 was for DirecTV. More down rezzing and little or no new channels.

New satellite does not mean new transponders though. FCC only allows Dish to broadcast on certain frequencies and they are all pretty much packed to the gills at 110/119/129.

Spot beams. Lots of locals on CONUS transponders that can be spot beamed, thus freeing up CONUS space. The new birds will be spot beam heavy.
