Hello,
I'm in New Jersey what Dish will I need for the dish network indian channels?

correct. In this case it would be a Dish 500+...but he needs 118.7 for it to work. Technically they can hook just the cable from 118.7 to the receiver and not use 110/119

Isn't that only installed as either a "Dish 500 + " or a " Dish 1000 + " ??

wont't be a 1000+ as the 129 is not "visible" in the northeast.
If the customer is ordering now, he will require a two dish solution. One pointed to Eastern Arc. And the second to Western Arc. Sucks. Buit since Dec 18th, these are the new rules.

did not know that...but what happens if he subscribed JUST to International channels?
That's a good question. Th errules I read ( thought I printed them out but didn't) didn't cover International only. I can only assume that the customer would be looking at 110/118.7/119.
Here's the message we got from Dish. All new subscribers who ordered services after Dec 17th would be furnished with mpeg-4 equipment provided they live in an EA DMA. Customers that order international services will be installed with a two dish solution with. One EA dish and one WA dish for the 118.7. 110/119 will not be connected to these customers. In the case of a NLOS to EA , the WA is still an option.
Here's my take. Dish is most likely expecting customers to purchase(more) HD tv's. So upgrades are likely. Installing EA with mpeg 4 recivers alleviates Dish from having to open a work order for an upgrade. All that needs to be done is the cust calls dish and adds HD programming. Also it cuts down on the number of receivers Dish must manufacture because fewer new connects use them. For example, we're buying a limited number of mpeg2 equipment because we are installing all mpeg 4. The 222(k) is the new 322. the 722 is the new 625 and of course the 211(k) is the new 301/311. Again, this applies to EA DMA's only at this time.

I believe NYC/PHI(only two DMA's the cover NJ) is in fact an EA DMA...In fact I think all DMA's that required a 61.5/D-500 2 dish solution for HD service are now EA. I have to check on that to be sure though.

sounds right. I know NY & Philly are both EA markets

Interesting as Minneapolis is a EA market yet I hjavent seen any 2 dish setups for Int'l. I recently did see a D1000+ dish on someone's roof. There are a fair amount of Superdishes on the roofs too (121 SD)
