Dish Network Phone & Broadband Connectivity

Anyone have any solutions to the phone line connection requirement for non-vip receivers? Would a non vip receiver reconize a phone connection and send status if I were to use my laptop and a magic jack?

MagicJack - Did Not Work

I tried using my MajicJack with my 211 receivers and while I could pull dial tone it was not possible to send data. This seems to be a common problem with all VOIP telephone connections though some people claim it can be done with Vonage.

I have also tried using a fixed base cell connection and I could not get that to work either.

I can use my ethernet connection to order PPV using the remote.

vonage works fine. just remember to add *99 to the prefix on the satellite receiver. I have it hooked up to my 625.

most likely there is something like that for the 'little' voip services.

maybe try pulse/rotary dial option on sat receiver also.
