Dish Upgrade---Need your help!

I currently have an old 4900 receiver :river and a SuperDish and I want to upgrade to the latest HD receiver. I am considering the 942 but I wonder, will it be compatible with the MPEG 4 when they go to that? Am I wasting my money by upgrading now or should I wait a while?

None of the existing receivers are MPEG-4 compatible. Whether you should jump or wait is the topic of much debate.
