Dish w/ Video card

I just got a killer deal for a x1800xt all in wonder video card. I was wondering if i hooked up a cable to it would it work for dish. I would guess that it would work for FTA but with security of dish i don't know. If this is in the hacking cat. I'm sorry and plzz delete. I would not be using this to hack or steal it would be for the channels that I am paying for. BUT IF THIS IS CONSIDERED HACKING PLEASE DELETE!

Well, if your trying to use your pc to hack it, yeah

But if you use like the VIDEO IN on the card and vid out from a dish receiver (thats paid for etc), it should be fine!

so i would have to put a reciever before the video card? That was one question im my mind.

Yeah you would, as 1) Dish doesnt make any 'dish-pci' cards (would be cool though!)

All the other ways are hacking, and thus illegal, and no-no!

But iirc a few members here do the video in (svideo infact) and they archive the stuff right on there pc! (now if you had a 6000 w/ a firewire interface, then the PQ would be alot better!) But most ati cards (specially the new ones, like that) usually have video in, and you can capture it right there!
