EchoStar on its 'forced pivot' and the path forward
EchoStar's top execs said transactions with AT&T and SpaceX were not the preferred outcome, and that the FCC forced EchoStar's hand.
To be honest, all customer service sucksif el cheapo charlie wasn't forced to sell the spectrum he would still be sitting on it i bet!!! i wonder how long this will hold dish over for? both direct and dish are doomed there customer service sucks it's just a matter of time!!! AT&T should have never bought directv they should have stuck to there bread and butter wireless and fiber... all of these cable and sat companies know whats coming it's just a matter of time... i would think that cable would be replaced with full fledged fiber every where since cable is dated tech...
I'll side with you on that one!!! rocks have more sense than most of these CSR'S!!! there is no more customer serviceTo be honest, all customer service sucks
Wait, what happened to the 7th?Here is my experience with Best buy and buying a Dishwasher off their website.
1. On Sept 6, 2025 I bought a dishwasher off their website and paid for install and haul away of old dishwasher plus 3 years of warranty with the geek squad.
2. I received email confirmation and order number generated that day.
3. A date for delivery was sent the next day on the 7th for the day of delivery was set for the 24th.
4. On the 22nd I received an update text that my window for delivery would be between 745am and 1045 am on the 24th.
5. So yesterday the 24th, I sat here from 0745 to 1045am and received no text or emails or phone calls. So I called their number through the text message. The computerized message said it would be delivered sometime between 700am and 700pm today.
So I asked for live customer service agent and I was switched to a guy after waiting 5 minutes on hold listening to crappy music. I then asked where they were and why I haven't heard from them. The csr says: " Let me check." He then says: "we don't have the dishwasher in and it won't be in till Oct 13th. Do you want to cancel the order?"
I said Why didn't y'all call me to tell me that or text or email me, like you have been doing all through the month? He said "I am sorry sir, it is a automatic generated computerized system." I said so I made plans to sit here and wait for a delivery that y'all had no intention of making for 3 hours and if I hadn't of called this morning I would still be waiting. I then told him that I had been a Best buy Customer with a 15,000 limit Credit card for over 20 years and this is the first time I tried to use it for appliances and it obviously is a mistake if this is the way the company handles customer deliveries and orders. He then said again: "do you want to cancel?" I said Hell yeah! I then asked if I could get it back in cash, since I had already paid it off using my savings. He said:"It will go back on the card used in 1 to 3 business days."
So I guess I will be using my Best Buy card for groceries next month to get the credit balance off it. I also wrote a complaint to their website under Account-Other heading , since they don't have a way to pick complaint on their site. I got an email today saying that they received my communication and it would be forwarded to the proper department and it will be answered within 48 to 72 hours. I am really curious what their response will be and I bet I will get nothing for my trouble. So yeah customer service is not only dead it is now going A.I. period.
Here is the path forward I heard about. Sounds like Charlie is in in the cat bird seat for the future. Might not of happened if FCC Brendan Carr hadn't pressured him like he was doing. I think he will buy Directv now. But if no plan to make satellite TV more attractive to customers and cheaper in price, it will end like the Blockbuster acquisition.![]()
