FiOS in the Miami, Florida area...?

I know that Comcast has a strong foothold here in south Florida, but was just wondering if there was any slimmer of hope/news of FiOS was coming into town to save the day....

FIOS is a Verizon product and I think the incumbent Telco in Miami is Bell South. The Telco need to be Verizon

The main telco in ALL of Florida is Bellsouth....but that has not stopped FiOS in Tampa area....why ya gotta put a downer on me?....

sorry but Bell South is NOT in all of Florida. I work calling the phone companies all day (I have to manage telephone service for 8000 locations so I've worked with dang near every phone company in the US & Canada...oh and Telefonica De La Puerto Rico)

Tampa area is Verizon

Ft Myers area is Sprint

Most of the East side of the state and Miami is Bell South

I can confirm with IceBerg that pretty much all of Pinellas County is served by Verizon. How do I know this as I live in Derry, NH. Simply put I used to live in Largo, Florida and had Verizon phone service for many many years.

Anyways, I did hear a RUMOR that att/bellsouth is already doing the fiber down in the Miami area. Anyone heard of this as well?

I havent heard anything about fibre yet and I just spoke ot a tech yesterday about this same thing. Have some locations down in (hee hee) Green Acres that I need internet for but DSL not available (too far away)

I kind of figured as much, thats why I was careful to word it as I heard a rumor (grin). I'll see what I can dig up if I can. I have one my techs leaving our area to go down to the Miami area for a fiber job. Will let you know if I find anything out.
