It's still being broadcast, and is on at my house right now. I still haven't tuned away. It doesn't make any sense why D* wouldn't just make this channel available, since they are definitely broadcasting it.

Because their contract says the go live date is October some-other-date.

If you record some programs, you can turn back to the channel later, don't have to keep it on the channel constantly.
