I am a total neubie to dishnet satilite but I have been told by a friend of mine that I can get a device to combine the signals from 110 and 119 (and maybe even another 1) and have just 1 guide that is streamlined (no duplicate channels) and not have to manualy swith between dish signals. I wish to purchase such an Item and maybe even a new receiver off of ebay...WHAT DO I LOOK FOR? WHAT IS THE DEVICE CALLED??? DOES IT WORK WITH ALL RECIEVERS? PLEASE HELP

So with that SW21 switch will I have to switch between the two signals and 2 different guides or will it all be in 1 guide with NO Duplicate channels? P.S. Thanks alot for the legacy link and your help

If you are only looking at 119 and 110, there are not duplicate channels. The SW21 switch is a legacy switch, make sure you have legacy lnb's. If the lnb's and switches do not match up, your system will not work. Receivers will work with which ever system you have.

The adapter is not needed for 119/110 feeds.

Legacy receivers require a DP adapter for use with DP lnb's.
The fact that the LNB's are "seeing" 110/119 has nothing to do with this. The LNB has no way to know if it is "seeing" 148,129,119,110, or 61.5, it is just sending the siginal it receives from the sat down the line to the receiver & the info from the receiver to the LNB

If you are refering to a DPP+ or a DPP44 switch that is a different matter, but I never said DPP+ or DPP44

I am only pointing this out because incorrect info (which I have also posted in the past) causes confusion and more pointless questions

Garys, if hes running dp equipment for 110/119 then he does need an adapter unless he is running a DPP+ twin and has a dp reciver allready hooked up :)

Just went back through thread, didn't notice he said 4000 receiver, not that familiar with that one. I bow to those with more knowledge on that model. I thought it was one of the models that needed the adapter to view either 105 or 121 and would not be affected if only looking at 119/110. Sorry if I causes any confusion.

Just to beat a dead horse (which is what I do best after a couple of drinks), here is what I posted, which you quoted

But more to the point, there is no adapter to receive 105-121, a totally different LNB is required to receive a signal from those sats, that is why I did not include those sats in post #12.

I am not trying to be a jerk, just trying to clarify

It's actually one of the models that doesn't see the FSS slots at all. The 4000 was either the 2nd or 3rd receiver model (I haven't found a date for the 3000), introduced sometime in 1996.

Yeah, I think I didn't give totally coorect info.

I figured if he was given the system, it might be a Legacy setup, thats why I included the links.

From what BBS stated in post#1, he has a 4000 and *probably* a Legacy Dish 300 that he re-points or a 500 that he manually switches cables from 110 to 119.

How to tell Legacy from DP:

Legacy, the eye of the dish will have a DISH Network logo printed on it. I would assume he needs an SW21 to see both slots.

DISH Pro, the eye on the dish will have the DISH Pro logo printed on it/and/or by the marking DP on the LNBF shell, then he minimally needs a DP21 to see both slots.

Am I correct in that assumption so far?

I should have made myself more clear first time around... Am I *still* wrong?

Side note: I am also a bit puzzled at how he can have an active box legitimately getting programming given to him by a friend. Someone has to be paying the bill... Right? Hmmm...

Do you still get $10.00 each HD package?
