HD and Cables

Just got a BEV 6100. Curious about cabling. The unit comes with a set of component cables--- red, green and blue as well as an S-Video cable. I'm wondering what the difference in HD quality is if i use the Component compared to the S-Video or do i really need to go out and buy an HDMI cable. I have a Sony 42" grand wega.

s-video is not HD, it only catrries a SD signal. Component is for HD.
