I recorded Transformers on the HD PPV channel on Friday afternoon and transferred it to my external hard drive that evening. When I went to watch it last night, it was gone. Is this a new Dish practice to not allow archiving of HD PPV?

As a side note is the audio any better? The HDDVD Audio was flat...
No, you need to check your system. Seriously. The HD-DVD audio won for best sound of the year.
Was this PPV open matte (still disgusted by the butchering of Casino Royale) or did they preserve the 2.35:1 OAR?

Is there an easy way to tell? I have a widescreen (Pioneer PDP 5071), and the image filled up the whole screen. Looked really good.
Nothing's wrong per se with your system. However, if you thought the audio in Transformers was flat, you honestly might need to check the sound levels on your receiver, EQ or processor.Nothing wrong with my system...the LFE was not what one might have hoped for other than that it was really good.
