HD PPV Transformers Deleted

I recorded Transformers on the HD PPV channel on Friday afternoon and transferred it to my external hard drive that evening. When I went to watch it last night, it was gone. Is this a new Dish practice to not allow archiving of HD PPV?

This is the first I've heard of this. I really hope this isn't the case. Maybe it was just a glitch.

I'll let you know after today, will be recording the 2:30 show CST. I wonder if we'd be better off keeping this one on the DVR and protecting it?

Anyone have any further info on this? I am going to order it again this evening (and watch it tonight - just in case), and attempt to archive it again.

Well I taped it twice on the 3rd. Protected one on the DVR and moved the other to my HD, both are still on there.

No, you need to check your system. Seriously. The HD-DVD audio won for best sound of the year.

Was this PPV open matte (still disgusted by the butchering of Casino Royale) or did they preserve the 2.35:1 OAR?

Nothing wrong with my system...the LFE was not what one might have hoped for other than that it was really good.

Is there an easy way to tell? I have a widescreen (Pioneer PDP 5071), and the image filled up the whole screen. Looked really good.

That means it was open matte. There should've been black bars above and below the image unless you have a scope projector. (Yes, I know the PDP is a plasma.)

Nothing's wrong per se with your system. However, if you thought the audio in Transformers was flat, you honestly might need to check the sound levels on your receiver, EQ or processor.
