Yea that the ticket we will get Cartoon Network HD with all the Frats ESPN NEWS HD with sport frats and the WFRAT HD which will before I smell up this tread I will leave. Stinking it up all the way home.

I agree and would only want channels that they do show true HD programming

Other than WFN, I am for adding as many HD channels now whether they show a lick of true HD or not. At least they'll be up when they start to show HD and we wont have the fiasco we had with SciFi and USA.

The purists who only want them when they show HD will be screaming the loudest for those same channels when a show they like starts broadcasting in HD.

That retailer chat could be very interesting considering the timing of it the day before the uplink and so close to the May which for months has been tallked about as the magical HD month for Dish.

Not to mention the permanent injunction telling dish to shut down all DVR capabilities...

Yes, there will obviously be clarification on exactly how E* plans to handle the situation, because retailers have a more pressing need to know than anyone !

BTW, here is a summary of what has been said in various threads about remaining HD channels:

* FX-HD, Speed-HD, FoxNews-HD, and FoxBusiness-HD are all unlikely to occur in the near term due to the litigation with NewsCorp over which package Fox News is in.

* WeatherChannel-HD has signed an agreement with E* and will have live HD broadcasts starting on June 2nd, so it will be added by then, if not earlier.

* ESPNews-HD and CartoonNetwork-HD are both likely in the near future, due to good relations between them and E* in general.

* MGM-HD and Smithsonian-HD and Mojo-HD seem like good possibilities, due to being uplinked, but the contractual, package, financial and bandwidth issues involving those channels are not known.

So, Weather, ESPNews and Cartoon seem the most likely additions, but they could be as late as 5 weeks from now.

Not all DVR's, just the older, buggy Tivo software based DVR's.
