HI Local Channels in CA?

Greetings,

I live in Maui about six months of the year, and San Francisco the other six. Is it possible to recieve HI local channels in CA if I subscribe to Dish Network?

Currently I have cable only.

Not through Dish Network... it is illegal now.

There are independent companies that work with Dish Network that can add Distant Locals to your system for a seperate monthly fee.... however the only one that I am aware of provides Atlanta and one other cities locals only (don't recall, but definately not Hawaii)... that's not to say others don't exist though.

But as for getting them through Dish? Nope.

Actually, that reply is not entirely accurate.

If you have your legal address in Hawaii, then you can legally receive Hawaii channels anywhere.

However, all local Hawaii channels are provided by Dish Network on spot beam channels that can only be received in Hawaii.

Actually you can leave your receiver in Maui and watch the Hawaii channels on any computer in the world over the Internet, using "Slingbox":

which is a company owned by Dish Network, so they certainly don't object to its use.
