Could use a little help. I have a new Dish vip 211k receiver. Just installed last Sat. I am using HDMI to the TV. Works great. I would like to hook up a 2nd TV. I do have a coax running through the house already. I tried to use the splitter I used when I had Direct TV, and there is nothing! What am I missing? I want to be able to watch the same show on both at the same time. Thanks.

You just need a standard splitter from Radio Shack. Hook the coax to the 211k coax out. Set the out to 3 or 4 and tune to that channel on the 2nd tv.

Your post isn't quite clear, did you split the HDMI, the coax running to the receiver or something else?

If you are using HDMI out to your current TV the coax out isn't being used so you don't need any splitters. If your existing coax is run directly from the receiver to the TV2 location you need to connect it to both receiver and TV2 and tune to ch3 or 4.

VIP 211k outputs RF on either channel 3 or 4 depending on what it is set for @MENU, 6, 1, 5 (Modulator setup).

Connect your TV with a short cable right at the 211k to insure it is working properly.

I have the coax out from my 211 going to 2 other tv's I just use a standard ota antenna splitter.
Why is everyone trying to stick a splitter on the 211? Op is using only the HDMI output on the back of the 211. Nothing is connected to the RF output so why is everyone sticking a splitter that will weaken the signal going out to TV2?
