Hopper3 deleting recordings by itself

I too have been having issues lately.
On 2 occasions I have setup recordings of F1 races on the ESPN channels. All practice and qualifying sessions recorded just fine but the race itself goes missing. On the event of the second race I observed that it was being recorded but a few days later when I went to watch it it wasn't there, nor was in in the deleted folder.
Last night I recorded a show while watching it and the wife and got distracted during the show. Tonight we wanted to re-watch it but it was nowhere to be found. The red recording light had been on and that was the only show to be recorded at that time. A real mystery.
These shows are all setup manually and have been working in the past. I do not use PTAT and never have. DVR page reports that hard drive is at 40%.

Had all this season's episodes of the Chicago shows (Fire, Med and PD) recorded. 5 of each. Now have 5 PD and only 2 of the others. Also lost all episodes of Glory Road, a NASCAR show. Seems like the Hopper3 deleted them by itself. PTAT is off.

Anyone ever have this happen?

We went out of town last Monday. My Hopper 3 DVR was working fine. I don't know how full it was, but I know I had a lot of shows on it. We came back on Friday morning. I didn't look at the DVR until Saturday night. Everything on it is gone. Not only all my programs, but my schedule, my timers and the trash, all deleted. I called DISH tech support and the woman was not only not very helpful, she tried to blame it on me or someone else who lived here (we were both gone). I've had the DISH DVRs fail before. Usually they start to glitch (for instance, I try to fast forward the commercials, and instead it puts me back at the beginning of the show), and then the hard drive dies, and it's worthless. They send me a new receiver, and I send the other one back. This time, she insisted that a DISH technician come out on Monday first to look at it. I'm sure he won't be able to fix it, but whatever... I just wish DISH would make a DVR that you can actually back up (i.e. create a copy on the hard driver), not just one where you have to move them over. I find that to be annoying. What is the point, too, of having a DVR that holds 2,000 hours of TV if you lose them all every few years? :(
