I just lost the 119 sat. Is it my switch?

I have a DP QUAD LNB hooked up to a DPP44 Switch. I have a (2) 508 DVR receivers and a 921 DVR receiver. One 508 and the 921 are hook up through the DPP44 Switch and the other 508 is hooked directly to the DP QUAD LNB. The 508 connected to the QUAD directly is working fine. All the other receivers won't pick up the 119 sat.

Everything was working fine until this morning, blank screen on some channels. I went to my point dish screen and noticed I lost the signal on my 119 sat on all my EVEN transponders. I do have a strong signal on most of my ODD transponders, but not all of them. When I do a switch test I can see the other sat locations but the 119 sat does not show up. I went into the DETAILS on my switch test on my 508 and it said that Port 1 on the QUAD was not showing up. I had Port 1 of the QUAD LNB going to Sat input 1 DPP44 so I changed that wire (all RG6) going to the sat input one and connected it to Port 4 of the QUAD LNB.

All of my 119 channels are now gone on the TWO receivers that use the DP44 Switch.

unplug the power inserter from the electrical outlet and wait about 30 seconds. It's hooked to port one on the switch on the output side. After that try a check switch.

Can you bypass the switch on at least one receiver to rule out the LNB? I know you said some aren't using it and those are fine, but possibly the feeds from the quad to the switch are having problem. Also, is 119 on input 1 of your switch?

might want to check connectors for corrosion, too. Anywhere the connectors are out in the whether, even if they are under an eave.

I unpluged the power inserter when I changed the cable from Port 1 from the DP Quad in to Port 4 into "To Dish 1" on the DPP44. I installed the DP Quad with four cables but was using only three of them.

The DP Quad, like the DP Twin, combines both 119 &110 on each one of it's outputs, so I don't know how to put just 119 on input 1 of the DPP44 switch. I had Port one and Port two of the DP Quad going to the same number on the DPP44 switch. Port 3 of the DP QUAD was for the 508. Port 4 of the DP Quad I wasn't using yet until today when I tried to see if it would work better than Port 1. No difference. I have a wing sat w/ a DP single connected to "To Dish #3" on the DPP44 Switch

While the switch is outside somewhat exposed because it's not under an eve, it is mounted in the right direction and each of connectors do have big blck rubber insulators on them. The connectors look OK. I didn't see any rust or black corrosion in them. Sould I spray some WD-40 on them?

You might consider placing a new cable from 119 to the switch. I think that the even transponders are on a higher frequency 1650-2150MHz w/DP equipment as opposed to the lower 950-1450 of odd transponders , so that would indicate a bad connector as chadzx stated. It also could indicate a bad cable from DP quad to the DPP 44 since corrosion or other cable deformity would probably cause the cable to loose higher frequency transmissions first. Also when you hook the DP quad up to a switch, the lnb ports connected to the switch dont function as a switch anymore so port 1 on the quad would be 119 and port 2 would be 110.

I know how the switches and lnbs work, I was asking because when you do a check switch with a dish multiswitch, the sats all come in on seperate ports, no matter what the LNB is sending, the switch treats them as seperate feeds. If you switch cables around and then do a check switch, different sats are on different ports. You say you had port 1 and 2 going to the respective sat inputs on the switch. WHen you did a check switch, what sats showed up on port 1 & 2. If you swapped the inputs on the switch, the sats would switch on the check switch.

If you bypass the switch and go directly to a receiver, your receiver will register 119 and 110, I wasn't asking you to just send 119. Sorry for the confusion on that one.

I asked about 119 on port 1 cause it is the preferred way to have the hookup register with the receivers. I know from personal experience that a very similar problem you stated occurred to me when I did some rewiring in my basement and hooked 110 up to port 1 on my DPP44. A day later I lost channels, guide data was missing, transponders were in and out.

I don't want to see you buy a new expensive DPP44 if you don't have to. Just trying to help you eliminate all the variables.

WHen you did a check switch, what sats showed up on port 1 & 2. If you swapped the inputs on the switch, the sats would switch on the check switch.

110 & 61.5 sat show up. I get in X where 119 sat would be.

If I have four sat locations (129 & 61.5) and I'm not using a superdish do I still need to put a check the "Superdish" icon?

Currently, I borrowed a couple of DP-21 switches and a DP sat. splitter for my DP-single LNB so that I can get my 921 up and running for the Superbowl Party. But since I had only one line to the 921, I had to run a seperate long cable through the door inside the house to where the 921 is. It working fine with the two DP-21switches and the DP Quad.

Would it worth the trouble trying to connect Port 2 or Port 3 to "Dish 1" on the DPP-44 to see if it can pick up the 119 sat? It's mostly just the even transpoders that are missing.

I don't want to see you buy a new expensive DPP44 if you don't have to.

You are not kidding!! I hate wasting more money on this stuff.
