There is a thread in which a returning DirecTV user set up his 3LNB dish and only got the even transponders. No one commented on the lack of signal from the odd transponders since he was getting a new dish anyway.
I am having the exact same problem. I have installed a larger (6 foot?) round dish for better signal strength. (The dish was originally made for SKY receivers and I had to use the SKY mounting hardware to hold the LNB casing to get the proper position.) I have a "Dual LNB" unit attached to it with two cables to my DirecTV/TIVO.
My signal for most even transponders is pretty good now (75+) .. except for the spot transmissions that are zero. I have played with fine-tuning the dish and it seems as if I am pointing right at the satellite. There are no obstructions.
However, I get no signal at all on any of the odd number transponders. I have tried two different "dual LNB" units. The first has the following markings
ROC
Model: 785A
RF:12.20/12.70GHx Gain: 55db
IF:950/1450MHz
LO:11.25GHz
My setup claims "no satellite found", probably because I can not get a signal on Transponder 1. However I do get all of the channels that are on the EVEN njumbered transponders with Live TV and the Guide information is correct.
Do I need a different Dual LNB? A different large dish? Any suggestions?
