Porn is a non-factor in the format war. The old "Porn made VHS" argument is irrelevant in the digital age. Who wants $30/title hi-def porn when you can get it free or cheap on the internets?

Does anyone actually BUY porn anymore on disc? I guess someone must be, but like others stated, it's not the same world as VHS/Betamax. Everyone gets their fix online cheaply if not freely.

Personally, I don't think I would ever buy HD porn. Heck I've never paid for porn anyways. Besides many of those chicks bodies are best in SD.

I'm not going to buy porn on any format and I don't have a preference between the two formats. But someone is buying porn on dvd now and they will buy it on one of the two formats when they buy their fancy new high def player. Ignoring that is ignoring a billion dollar industry and that is just dvd sales not including internet porn. If there was a forum like this during the betamax/vhs days someone would have made that same comment.... porn is not going to decide this.. but it was a major factor and it will have some effect on this battle. It may not be as much of a factor but Ignoring it is wrong.

Heck, I never bought it when it was on VHS. No Puritan, just cheap - when you buy the latest Academy Award winning film for $10, and they wanted $70 for Slutty Cheerleaders, I just said No Thanks.

Agreed. On the other hand, watching Basic Instinct on Blu-ray last night, when Sharon Stone gave the investigating cops the legendary "Beaver Shot", it was pretty amazing . . .
