Dunnsept, I have the same 7.5' Perfect 10, but mine, too, is in pieces for the moment. I'm looking for one of those Prodelin NPRMs to put it on, and I'm running out of time before the next NASA mission (the dish is going to be aimed at 72w for the NASA mux on C-Band)...

But, I digress. You're right about the mesh size, its the smallest I've seen on a BUD. I believe there are members here using that dish for C/Ku operations with some degree of success...

Regarding skew. Skew said:
While I totally agree with your theory there is a slight flaw. I was involved many years back in Ku ,Ka development, in both spark eroding C and cnc machining LNB halls on Ku and Ka LNBs (Mid 60s) and to this day commercial LNBs in all bands are still skew indifferent on the same models. Therefore the likelyhood of C and Ku combo LNBs having exactly the same skew are remote and it will make a big difference on Ku on a BUD

It sounds to me like a lot of grief to expect a BUD to successfully handle both C & Ku H to H. Surely a second smaller dish for KU is the way to go?

hmmmmm.. some say yes, some no.. I guess one way to find out is to try. Since I'm using a motorola dsr922 for C-band, and it only does steps of 5 when changing skew, I might find some difference alone in just using the pansat since I have a greater degree of control (steps of 1)
Although a second solid dish might be the best solution, I have to make do with the current one for the next few months at least until the ground thaws.

hey PedroGarcia, where in Mi are ya? I'm near Midland

I think most on here will agree that the skew should be close to the same, and that the skew is probably not your problem? Your problem is most likely an alignment problem, your movement is not stopping where it should for you to get the ku. Or maybe the alignment is in your elevation/declination and you need to refine it. As C-Band is more forgiving and is much easier to get, you need to try and peak the ku-Band for best performance.

This is the best solution, get a separate dish for your ku experiences and let the Pansat control it's motor. You won't regret it, and you'll still have the BUD, for the best of both worlds.
