I've received the update. I had the snow screen but just powered off on the front panel. I then waited a couple of minutes and it powered on and went through the usual guide update, etc. I have not had an issue with the hdmi as others are reporting. It looks like the signal strength indicators for ota are now showing lower levels than before, but the signal still comes in fine. I really don't see much change
Dish is rolling this one out slowly. The third partial release is scheduled to go out today 8/9. Usually the third spooling goes to everybody.
I installed my replacement receiver this morning, and it downloaded L4.30. I tested it for about a hour and the HDMI didn't fail and the OTA seemed more stable. I didn't have any breakup on channels down in the 70s on the meter, nor did I have the 100 to 0 dropout problem.
I still suspect that I really didn't need a replacement receiver, that the problem has been software. Still, DISH wanted to replace it so I let them.
It's a good start, but we'll see what happens long term.
Not all HD yet. But the VOOM channels that aren't MPEG-4 already will be on Wednesday. Since you already have a ViP receiver, that shouldn't affect you at all.Thought I would get 3.49 today, but still have 3.45. Hopefully I will get it before the 15th when all HD goes to mpeg4.
Some of us have had the Snowy screen at least twice in about a week and we never had problems with HDMI before. So it must be a software related problem.
OK. Lets see.
