The Mid-Atlantic Sports Network, the television home of the Washington Nationals and the Baltimore Orioles, will launch a high-definition overflow channel in the spring of 2010. MASN2-HD will allow the network to televise every Orioles and Nationals game live and in high-def throughout the season. The majority of MASN's cable and satellite affiliates will be prepared to carry the channel for the 2010 MLB campaign throughout the network's seven-state television territory, MASN says. Nationals and Orioles game replays will still appear on the network's flagship high-definition channel, MASN-HD. "O's Xtra" and "Nats Xtra," the network's exclusive pregame and postgame shows, will be televised in HD live and on location from the ballpark during every home game for both teams. In 2010, MASN2-HD will carry 130 live baseball games, with another 190 on MASN-HD.
Don't forget, the only important HD channels are the ones I want to watch. Those channels are must carry, everything else is a wast of bandwidth. At least, that's the opinion most HD aficionados share. No one cares if the market for the channel is small, if they want to watch.
hope they don't add those .tv channels before they add all the others or ever, had those on FIOS and they are just endless loops of the same programing. If you watch it for a day you have seen pretty much everything for the year.
Have the Encore theme channels been launched in HD yet on any system? This is probably one of my most wanted HD additions.
No where I've seen. I'm not even sure they are available at all.
Nope - just looked at the Encore spawn stations. They aren't currently available in HD other than Encore.
Not sure about all the Cinemaxes either, but I want the Max channels we don't have, even if only in SD. They look great. They can remove the myriad of shopping channels and put some of these on instead. :up
Actually, Indie and Retro are Starz channels (as are Encore), as well as their parent channel, Movieplex. All owned by Liberty (odd DirecTV has so few of these).
It also occurs to me that I left of a rumored channel coming, Shorts HD.
They are all the Starz family of channels. Movieplex is just a different Encore channel a different day of the week. While FIOS mistakenly labeled them Starz Indieplex and Starz Retroplex in the guide, they were Encore channels on their own promos. Different providers will market them differently as well.
The Starz website seems to show them as operated independently of Encore.
