LNB from a SD or Dish1000

Could I use the linear lnb of a super dish or 1000? Would The Feed Horn have a 40 mm clamp?

A dish 1000 does not have a linear LNB

A Superdish LNB would work but it is stacked frequencies which requires a little math when setting up the LNB

exactly. One for 121 and one for 119. You cannot get 2 LNB's that close (2 degrees) without some manipulation of them. That is why the SD assemble looks like it does.

I don't know the specifics of the Super Dish LNB, but LNB stacking means that both the Vertical and Horizontal polarity are placed on one.

Example:

Normal LNB:

100 H 200H 300H
150 V 250V 350V

Stacked:

100H 200H 300H 450H(Original 150V) 550H(Original 250V) 650H(Original 350V)

All frequencies are on the Horizontal Band, the verticals are moved to higher frequencies.

But wait. I took apart an old dish 1000. It had a Dish 500 Lnb and then a Linear Lnb Next too it. And what is this stacked frequencies thing?

stacked LNB's take the H frequencies, makes them V and puts them at a higher group of frequencies than V. If you have a blind scan box the receiver does the math but for a non blind scan box you need to do the math.

NO it does not. 110,119,129 are ALL circular in Dish Land. Only 105 & 121 are linear

Phase II or Phase III? Doesn't matter honestly. Unless it is a Superdish the LNB's are circular polarity and will not work for normal FTA. DIrecTV is all circular and DIsh (sans 105 & 121) are also circualr

The 105 and 121 LNBFs are linear.

If you have a dish1000 it's likely a DPTwin and a DPDual, both circular.

With a superdish linear LNBF and the MRX1000 in Antenna Setup you can set LNB Freq 1 = 10750 and LNB Freq 2 = 13850, with these settings it will "un-bandstack" the signal. My Primestar dish right now has a superdish LNB attached to the old Primestar feedhorn and it works pretty good. I'm not sure about the "40mm clamp" but it fit all four holes when I put it together.

No, the Superdish LNBs will not fit a 40mm clamp, due to the feedhorn used. You would need a LNBF (integrated feedhorn and LNB) for that application.

Hate to re-hash this, but are those LNB's completely useless due to the interior workings (wirings)? Or do the Dish Network receivers cause them to stack? Just need a little more insight on this.

The LNBs are unique.
I'll look around for one of the several other recent threads on 'em.
They're quite interesting, and solve a few problems for avid FTAers who are in a bind to get lots of LNBs, or LNBs very close together.
I think most modern receivers can handle them without too much trouble.
