I borrowed a phillips (low cost) indoor antenna, and to my surprise i got eleven analog and five digital stations. The signal was very low on most of them,but with better antenna i'm hoping for better results. Any ideas on what might work ?

Having a outdoor antenna with height is your best bet. I assume when you say “analog” you are referring to sub-channels since true NTSC TV no longer exists
