You should look for the 'Digital' Video Essentials. The original Video Essentials was designed for analog. DVE sells for under $20. The last time i purchased Avia it was about $35
Don't forget about Sound and Vision's disc. I use it and it's easy to use. I believe that they sell at Best Buy, but you can get it from Sound and Vision's website. Around $20.
a cheap way is also the thx calibration you will need special glasses to do some tests and you might have a dvd with it already on it for example starwars 2 attack of clones has this feature just look in setup for thx calibration this also does audio
