What about G-Size? (aka Grady Sizemore). Why does the MVP award have to go to a winning team? Sizemore may reach the coveted 40 HR/ 40 SB plateau that has never been accomplished by a non-roided player.

In 2003, A-Rod won the MVP award on a Rangers team that my high-school team could pitch better nthan.

Keep in mind that when Soriano hit 40/40, he did it on a not-so-good team either.

Don't hold your breath on Sizemore, but Cliff Lee is basicaly a lock to win the Cy Young.

My ultimate wish as a "homer" would be for Cliff Lee to win the AL Cy Young, Sabathia to win the NL Cy Young and for G-Size to win the MVP. I know it's not all going to happen, but that would be pretty sweet non the less.

Sizemore currently has 31 HR's and 35 SB's.

If we were talking about "Player of the Year" or the Tribe were in the thick of the pennant race, then yes, Grady would be the favorite to win it, but not MVP. IMO, you have to look at it from the," where would team X be without player X" angle. The Indians would still be out of the pennant race (that's not taking anything away form Grady, who I think is a GREAT!!!!! player) with or without Sizemore. Pedroia, on the other hand, has just about put the Red Sox on his back since the Manny fiasco (the Sox were going down the toilet FAST).

Cliff Lee wins the Cy Young no question, and he certainly deserves it. But MVP and Cy Young are two totally different animals.

You know of my admiration for Grady. However, what Pedroia is doing this season does have the baseball world talking about him BIG time. I think he deserves it now if Carlos loses substantial time and I hate the kid. After all, he took away John LAckey's no-no earlier this year, the lilttle S.O.B. !!!!!!!

The Phillies beat the Mets this afternoon and are now only one game back. They are currently playing the second game of their day-night doubleheader on ESPN, the Phillies are ahead, 1-0 in the top of the first and are still threatening against Johan Santana.
