I'm up 2 points since yesterday, but most tps have gone up 2 to 4 points, prob. just the weather.

Looks like 16 is used for Atlanta HD Locals. Seeing good numbers for 16 but never paid much attention to them before so I can't say if its an improvement.

At 2pm PDT these are the peak numbers I'm seeing using a dedicated 500 in the Seattle area along with the HD channels effected on the West coast:

I'm sure someone missed a decimal point or something in the risk analysis, if they ever did one. How many subs do they have - 12-13 million, and how many of those will ever "own" the 622, maybe a million? So the 20-cent savings means a $200 cost reduction over the life of the 622's production. I venture E* has already spent that amount several times over in real losses due to wasted tech/engineering time, swap-outs, and lost revenue from disgruntled customers who either switched service or didn't ever order it, and probably more than that intangibles.

You misplaced about 3 decimal places of significance.

It's not insignificant money, but it's not a huge increment in per unit cost either.

That said, it is possible that it is a defective technique in use during assembly as well. I use a significant number of HDMI equipped products and only the 211 has failed.

This is pretty typical of what I see from 129 since late Tuesday night/Wednesday morning with my standard D1000. I never saw any mid-upper 70s on 129 (a few low 70s) prior to Wednesday, so there has been an improvement and the VOOM channels are more stable now...far fewer dropouts. I've been watching a concert on Rave (aside from checking the TP readings) and so far, there hasn't been a dropout in the past hour, which has never happened before to me. I'll have to try UHD, which has extremely prone to dropouts (2-3 an hour with durations of 30 seconds to 5-7 minutes) and see how it does.

As it stands now, sure it's still HD-Lite, but at least I can watch it now without having to change channels between each dropout to prevent the 622 from locking up...

Y'all got lots of rain over there, hope it doesn't affect the Chile crop from Hatch...(give em a week or so and the Csr's may be up to speed, or just go to technical)

I'm going to talk to a local retailer about the 24" dish and see what he says about it...

I skimmed thru the TP's for 129 after getting home from work. The numbers were pretty much the same as last post, maybe few points higher on some TP's which I think may be because there is less cloud cover today. I'll have to do some viewing to see if I escape picture breakup at this point. It might be that I'm okay with the seperate 500 for 129 now.

I called dish technical support. The rep who answered knew nothing of the 24 inch dish being offered as a solution. She did say that I could schedule a visit to install a 24 inch dish for 99.00. I asked what the model number of that dish would be and she said she didn't know, just that the dish is 24 inches. I decided to hold up on it until I give the current 500/500 set up a better test. And hope they make it free in a couple of weeks.

My tests so far are a bit more promising than they have been since April. I'm seeing generally far fewer dropouts on the channels on 129. It still does happen, but with far less frequency than prior to Wednesday. I would imagine a 24" dish would resolve my problems entirely.
