New Max/Starz Bundle on Prime

So which package of MAX are you getting for $20.99?

With Ads - $9.99/month
Ad-Free - $16.99/month
Ultimate Ad-Free - $20.99/month

Starz plan and price

Monthly plan: $10.99 per month

If the price is indeed about 25% off of the regular price it would mean you are getting the MAX plan of Ad-Free - $16.99/month.

I have seen people online are getting Starz for a lot less than the regular price of $10.99 per month though.

Personally I would rather just signup for each service via that service. I have seen a lot of problems people have when getting streaming services via Amazon and/or Apple channels.

I don't think this is for people who don't already have Prime. It is for the roughly 80 million in the US that already have it.

Yup, additionally there's usually a bit of whining about having to use different apps, etc. This solves part of that. I know I personally enjoy having one app I anchor other services to, and since we pause YTTV when it's not football season and video is essentially a free throw-in for us for our Prime sub, Prime became it.

Prime has a pretty good central UI for your subscribed services now too instead of having to find the tile in the ever-changing content areas.

We've added (and removed) a number of services for promotional or discounted rates. They occur pretty regularly. Starz, MGM+, etc. With a couple clicks I can add a service, not have to login to an app on several TVs / computers, etc. It just works.

does this mean if you can only access the service via the prime hub/app? Just curious how it technically works.

It depends on the service, but recently found you can typically still use standalone apps / websites if that's your preference, for example, you can see Prime Channels as an auth method on the Max website.

While there are times I'd personally prefer to use the native / individual apps (ie Amazon's video player I'm not always happy with), the kids don't care and i don't have to go login to TVs and stuff when I spin up a new subscription.

I have a couple times in the past signed up for an odd service through Prime to watch a particular show. Typically you have a time to cancel before being charged.

I think Acorn is one I am thinking of. Some of the British stuff shows up in strange places.
