Hello... this is my first post to SatGuys. I think I'm going to like it here!
Just got my first HD TV (two, actually... a Samsung HL-T5076S 50" 1080P for my family room and a Samsung LN-T4642H 46" High Definition LCD for my mother's room in our house) and was therefore ready to upgrade to HD with D*.
D* wasn't the least bit interested in matching anything that E* was offering... so I switched to E* and am very happy... except...
... the audio sync issue is driving me a little crazy.
In addition, I noticed that E* forgot to give me higher end cables when they hooked me up... so I contacted them and asked for the proper cables. They insist on sending Component, rather than HDMI.
I agreed to them sending me component cables, since I'm curioius to see if they will work as well as HDMI and if NOT using HDMI will help the sync issue. Other than the now-and-then sync issue... I'm VERY happy with my sound and picture... and blown away at the change from my little Toshiba 24" flat screen, to the new 50" Samsung. Fun... fun... fun!!
FYI... I have an inexpensive Onkyo receiver (home theater with 5.1) with only ONE digitial optical audio input, so I'm running an optical switch so I can use my HD DVD and my vip722 DVR, without yanking audio cables in and out of my equipment.
I have MUCH to learn... so please feel free to teach me. I can tell this forum has some amazing knowledge in the treasury.
Merry Christmas!
