Anybody ever mess around with noaaport data on SES-1?

I recall looking at this a few years ago but a fellow ham refreshed my memory in Dayton. The goal to get weather data from the sat and display on a Pi using a USB dvb-s/2 dongle. Make a weather channel I guess you could say.

I see from your sig you are using a 12 footer for NOAA. Do those signals require that much dish to receive reliably?

I started with a 10ft dish but upgraded to the 12ft to hsve more margin during bad weather. Some big changes coming in August as the data is going to be significantly increased which shouldn't pose a problem for the receive equipment but the computet for processing made need to be upgraded. Won't know for surr until then.

Hi, is this the right frequency "3956" and Symbol Rate "6349"?
