One Question about the service

Seattle is about longitude 122 west, so if you cannot see east of south, you cannot get the 110 or 119 satellites where much of the HD is. 129 might be difficult since it is nearly south of you.

I called Dish today, and they told me that I need to have south view. I have it. What do you mean with those numbers (110, 119 satellites). Can I have all channels from top 250 package? I don't understand anything of satellite TV

You need a line of sight for the orbital locations the programing is located on. Most of the channels for the 250 package are split between 119 and 110 and if you cannot 'see' them, you cannot get them.

how is the quality during cloudy and rainy days

Cloudy days not really a problem.

Rainy days overall haven't been an issue for me.

You might have situations where really severe downpour might take things out for 10-15 minutes during the height of the storm, but overall it's been something that's happened for less than a TOTAL of an hour for me in the course of any entire year.

We almost never have thunders and storm in Seattle. But we often get drizzle in the winter

Drizzle isn't really an issue. Snow can be to a point, but there's always spraying the dish with PAM spray or using a long armed broom to clean it off.

The really wussy folks use a Hotshot dish heater strapped to the back. I do kind of envy them sometimes :D

I live north of Buffalo, NY and east of Niagara Falls. We get snow. I've never, in all the years and years I've had a dish up, ever had to clean snow off of it. I don't spray it with anything. Like the others, I've only ever rarely had rain fade. It takes a HUGE thunderstorm between me and the satellite for this to happen. Snow fade is more fun. I think it's only happened twice and believe me, when you get snow fade, you're about to have issues more important than the fact that your TV reception is fading. You better be out making sure your snow blower has gas and that you have enough food in the house. :) .... actually... by the time you get snow fade, it may be too late for those things. Switch over to OTA and keep an eye on the blizzard reports. heheheh
