Pansat 9200 Won't turn on.

The last couple times it took 2 or 3 tries of the power switch behind the front panel, but it would finally turn on. This time, nothing.
Anything to look for? Everything inside still looks fine & no weird smells or anything.

Just dead.

I can hear a very faint high pitch buzz inside it, when the switch is on if I listen real close. This makes me think the power supply is ok.

How do you feel about probing for voltages?
Some power supplies have the voltages printed on the board by the output connector.
If you could carefully verify those are correct (safely), that is where I would start. .

We've had some anxious members go probing around their receivers without knowing how to run a volt meter.
One guy probably caused more damage, using the current range instead of voltage.
And you can damage the meter if it is on Ohms, too.

So, anyone reading this thread who is unsure about their receiver or tools: ASK!

Oh yeah, I'm pretty well versed in volt-ohm meter use, but very good point, some of these things can have lethal voltage inside!

I remember reading someplace recently, about a receiver's rocker switch going bad, then another fellow posted he had experienced the same thing. Sorry I can't recall where, or which receiver but it sounded like a fairly simple replacement. Maybe that's all it is.
