I have a Dish 322 reciever in my room (out of 3, one in the living room, one in the den). Late last night I've been having a problem. There was no picture and the channel guide wouldnt load. I went into system info, where the signal was strong, but it kept saying Wrong Sat. Theres also that "beep, beep" sound, not the single beep which indicates its locked on. The signal appears strong, around 110 peak. Its set to use Sat 119, transponder 13. I've not changed any settings at all.

I went into the Check Switch section, and it displays the following:

Input 1 2 3
Sat: Conn, X X
Polarity X X X
Device: Dual, NC NC
Status: Problem Detected, Check connections

We have superdish so the checkmark is there. I ran the test, but it doesnt do anything. When I check Details, I get this:

Switch Status: Connected to a DP34 with 3 inputs
Port1 DP-Dual-1 Good Connection, No Signal
Port2 N.C. No Connection
Port3 N.C No connection

I have NO idea whats going on. The recievers in the living room and downstairs work without a hitch, its just my TV. Any ideas on what is causing this and how to fix it? I may call support later on today but I'd like to try and fix this on my own if possible. Thanks!

There is likely a problem with the cable between the receiver and switch or a problem with the receiver itself. Check the cable connector on the cable connected to the switch. Moisture could have got into the connector and that is what is causing your problem.

Well I checked all connections from the reciever to the switch, all appears fine. Nothing loose or wet. Could be the reciever itself, but I dont know why all the sudden it stops working.

When I go into sysinfo, it runs all 12 tests rapidly and fails on each one. I have red checkboxes on the bottom 3 signal boxes.

The details screen tells me that between 11:19p-5:19a yesterday to today have gotten 78/62 signal losses.

The 2 other recievers work fine so I doubt its a connection issue, either the receiver is flipping out or its something on Dish's end.

I hate to ask but have you rebooted the receiver... hold the power button.. or pull power. it sounds liek something is stuck somewhere.... do yo uhave any other receivers that you could switch around to try to localize the problem?

Hah, shoulda known to do a reboot. Just tried it and it started to download the program guide, and the signal appears through and everything appears to be working fine. Glad it was so simple to fix. I wonder what happened though.
