I like your setup better. Hopefully I can come up with a deal with the guy that has it. If I get it, I'll probably park it on one satellite for the winter. Making it movable would be a project for next summer.
Yes I too am near airport. On the mux I WOULD like to watch, it breaks up every few seconds presumably as the radar spins around. I don't watch a lot of TV in general so its not that big of a deal but yes I am getting interference. I am right about at 5 miles away myself and my dish is in the direction of it.
A search on Ebay for "spectrum analyzer", "field spectrum analyzer", "RF spectrum analyzer" will yield dozens of affordable or reasonably priced full featured units. Just depends on your budget and requirements. If portability a requirement or it will only be used occasionally, the HP Agilient or Tektronx, bench line units are a great value. Arinst, Instek, Anritsu field units are cutting edge and portable. It's all about frequency range, sampling, portability, etc.
Probably best to start a separate thread for a discussion on spectrum analyzers. So many options....
