Review: consumer receiver natively tuning 4:2:2

No second tuner, in the package box, must be dongle SDR or 2nd small tuner box, supposedly support ATSC 1.0 and 3.0 from reading off the internet.🤷‍♂️

Just tuning in other football feed on 97 W* a KCRA-DT on frequency 11.940 GHz, V 2.639 MBs.

Modulation: DVB S2 8PSK 5/6

Codecs: H.264 MPEG-4

Video: 1280x720 60 Hz 59 FPs

Signal quality here in New Mexico 74% :) :hatsoff2

FYI, it seems that the V9 has added features over a short space of time. My first sat recvr was a V9 bought March 2024. CC doesn't work and the timeshift function isn't as reliable. I bought 2 more before the "tariffs" (Feb 2025 ish) and they both support CC and seem to have better timeshift/record functions. You can manually edit PIDs with the remote but I couldn't add new channels, so I just used that to hunt down all the music channels on 101W (writing down what was what on paper)... then I edited the user database with the PC editor. Works like a charm.

That GTX combo I've eyed for a while, maybe I'll get it to upgrade from my current setup, I have 5 remotes :(, needing 4 even with a universal remote. How is the OTA sensitivity and record functions?

Have you upgraded it to the March 2025 firmware?

The GTX OTA tuner is as good as our Sony Bravia TV (perhaps slightly better) and comparable (or slightly better) than our HD Homerun tuner.

I have not tried the recording functions yet (need to buy an SSD to stick in the unit).

PS- the GTX uses a bluetooth remote control, so if you cover up the IR window on the back of the remote, it won't interfere with your other GTMedia receivers :)

Yes, pretty much the same as you Cn, I also have my 8 to 10 years old Sony with MPEG-4 built in.

Still using my new GTX Combo for DXing for the time being, might switch back to V9 for CC stuffs.

Haven't try recording on the GTX Combo yet, have a 256 Gb stick which haven't used very much.

I have a fish stick style indoor antenna and gets 113 subchannels, unfortunately mostly duplicates diginets out there. 😛 :hungry2

Interesting to see and I do have a old external USB Samsung half terabytes hard drive.

Might see if it's work, if not then will try 256 GB USB stick.

Hopefully GT MEDIA Combo will like it!🤞

Should be a fun project today during the halftime football game! :hatsoff2
