My impression is that no signifcant news has come out in the last 90 days about Dish Network programming. If that is not the case let me know what forum members believe I have missed....

Give it a couple of weeks. There might be some news out of Team Summit, happening in early May just down I30 from you. :)

Just curious if you've ever subscribed to cable ?? It's not unusual to go a year+ with no add'l programming. I left Dish a few years ago for my local Time Warner (I couldn't afford a $1000 HD-DVR from Dish) and in the 2-1/2 years I was with them, using HD programming as an example, I can tell you exactly how many HD channels they added: ZERO. After leaving them, it's been 1-1/2 years now I think, my local TWC did add Universal HD, I believe.

DirecTV isn't much better....

I think I made the right choice with Dish. I have no loyalty to any provider either ! All that matters is *me* and how I can get what I think is the best deal for the best price.

Amen to that, Hall:hatsoff: At least with D* & E* you do have a choice. Remember the old days before DBS, cable was pretty much your only choice. If ya don't like whatcha got, make the change, this is the way the market works.

I've been with them for about 2 months or so and I've seen:

- 622 'for free' lease
- A&E HD added
- Cinemax HD added
- RSN HD's added
- New software features

Seems like a decent amount of stuff less than 3 months.

Last 90 days ?

- HD RSNs
- Successful testing of new MPEG-4 encoding that allows E* to put 50% more HD channels per transponder with equal or better PQ.
- E* fails to get equitable treatment from MLB and drops Extra Innings package
- The world did not end due to early Daylight Savings Time, although 50x receivers had problems.
- New version 4 software for ViP622 has new features

and

- After the hundredth repetition of the Jessica Simpson ad, I give in and decide I have to have "1080i" also - but not from DirecTV... :)

Ahhhh, 7 RSNs in HD!!

just last week

fred

Fredinva...last night I set preferences to digital channels only and discovered on channel 366 Fox SW HD. Displayed was a large Dish HDTV logo, but no programming...I called a CSR a few minutes ago and she explained that Dish had a provision for Fox SW HD, but so far Fox had supplied no programming. If you have additional info on the 7 RSN's I'd love to have it..In Dallas/Fort Worth, at least, and we are a major market, there is no RSN programming currently available, nor has there ever been according to the CSR.

The seven HD RSNs launched today include Fox Sports Network Florida (DISH Network Ch. 373), Fox Sports Network Midwest (Ch. 368), Fox Sports Network West (Ch. 367), Fox Sports Network Prime Ticket (Ch. 361), Fox Sports Network Rocky Mountain (Ch. 364), Fox Sports Network South (Ch. 370) and Fox Sports Network Southwest (Ch. 366).

DISH Network will continue to explore carriage of additional HD RSNs throughout the year to enhance local HD programming line-ups. In addition to the seven RSNs announced today, DISH Network will begin offering Sun Sports and SportSouth this spring as well as Altitude this fall.

If you are pointing at 61.5 instead of 129, then the news on HD RSNs is 1 new HD channel, not 7.
Two channels (from Tony's chart):
HTML:
HDTV Sun Sports SUN 372 30 61.5° E*3 AT100+* DL2* Sports (13)
HDTV Fox Sports Florida FOXFL 373 30 61.5° E*3 AT100+* DL2* Sports (13)

Anyone getting Fox SW HD? All I get is the logo. What RSN's are Dish subcribers getting?

FSNSW had 2 HD programs all the month of April and the May listings are not listed.

So far, the fare on HD RSN's (at least for Texas) is not compelling.

Tonights Ranger game will be broadcast in HD. They don't have anything except the logo when there is no scheduled HD broadcasts. It's not a mirror of FoxSW (416). It is just used SPARINGLY" for certain HD broadcasts.

I have a timer set for the Rangers/Yankees game tonight. :)

There was a Houston Rockets game in the EPG for 366 last night (or was it Monday?), but it was blacked out here in OKC. We aren't in the Rockets' home territory.

Aiming Dish
