Site is slooooow

Ok I talked to MattW who has done some work for us a few years ago, and did some great work. He was also referred to us by Xenforo.

He can work on the server tomorrow afternoon (his time) as he is in the UK.

So for now I am going to stop screwing with it, and wait to let on of the best Xenforo configuration guys handle it.

If the Editing software isn’t baked in to XenForo but comes from a 3rd party, maybe that link/site is what is mucking things up. There have been countless times where my iPad slows to a crawl when editing.

That’s besides the issue with this site consuming more battery resources than other sites. I just figured Scott was mining bitcoins on the side while we were connected to his site, or someone was paying to utilize our CPU resources while kicking back a little to Scott to help keep the lights on.

I am not that smart. :) I will admit though I do run my weather site on the server too.

I don’t know why but I love seeing the weather conditions at my house. https://weather.satelliteguys.us

43 seconds for the initial request to return and then it all loaded, it did this a couple times before I opened inspector.

I do have a timeout on my tracert to satguys between twelve99 and cogent.

Doesn't really say much as the timeout could be intentional as they could block ICMP responses.... The reverse traceroute is important too which we don't have as the path it takes might not involved cogentco at all. Here is from SFO.

so using the above as a example, what does the route from SG to 96.120.91.133 look like.

I meant one can also have a reverse traceroute script installed on SG so the members can show the path back to them from SG as all we have now is the forward traceroute so with both we can see the whole picture. Here is a sample reverse traceroute script:

Personally though, I have not experienced the slowness yet but it could be the time I am visiting the forum and actively using it.

Most times it's actually fine but then there are the others.

Time have actually been OK for me...

MattW will be working this afternoon his time (he is in the UK so he is 5 hours ahead of the time here on the East Coast)

i gave him permission that if he wants to close the site while he is working that he is free to. (That will prevent everyone from getting a million error messages)

I am actually home today from work as the close work due to an incoming snow storm. (Thats a first!)

I will NOT be screwing with the server. I will let the pro do his thing! (Thanks MattW!)

I had one moment where all I had on the page were large versions of the reaction icons, avatar thumbnails, and menus all running down the left side of the page. A refresh restored everything back to normal.
