I am going to be signing up for Directs service today or tomorrow and only at it's basic, $29.99, service. This is so I can get the MLBEI package. My question is do you think it is worth my time to get an HD reciever or just go with the standard one? I am not so sure when I would switch over from Dish to Direct, 6 months or more and didn't know how much HD was broadcast for baseball on Direct this past season. I am going to wait to see if Direct comes through with all of their promises about their HD programming. Right now I have Dish's HD programming and I really like it so I can absorb the cost for at least the upcoming baseball season. I just didn't see the point of buying a HD reciever that I really won't use for quite awhile. If and when I do switch over then I will need all of the HD equipment. Thanks

If you get a D* HD receiver (H20) you will be expected to purchase the HD package, along with your basic one. The receiver is free after the rebate. If you don't want to purchase the HD package, stick with the SD receiver.

Different markets had more MLB HD games last year than others. Many markets didn't even offer any HD games last year, but I am sure more will come on board this year. Here in the Orlando market, we had quite a few HD games, between the Marlins and The Devil Rays.
