Streaming channels - Is there a way to enter a dash on a remote control?

Some channels have changed to streaming only, which is super annoying. It's slow changing channels, and the images pixelate periodically despite having a solid 300Mb connection. Other streaming services do not have that problem.

Also, all the channels are xxx-xx format, which cannot be entered on the remote. Not sure what fool came up with that design. Dish's suggestion was to enter the first channel then scroll up on the guide, which is totally stupid. Most importantly, it won't work for my mother who cannot see well enough to see the guide.

I might be able to get her to enter a dash, but there is no dash, confirmed with Dish customer service. Is there a third-party remote that can do that? Not sure if the box would support it. At this point I have no choice but to switch to another provider, but that will take time. It does seem odd that they changed to an inferior solution and charge the same price though.

It's really quite simple. Let's say you want to go to streaming channel 96-04, the ATK channel. You simply input 09604 on your remote and it will go directly to that channel.

Well that's helpful, thank you. Maybe you should get a job in Dish customer service and help them out. I found you don't need the leading zero though. My OTA receiver does have a dash or dot button on the remote, so I thought this would be the same here. Thanks again.
