This feature works really good. We tried it on 2 shows last night and it worked flawlessly.

Does it work on all recordings or just primetime?

This just works with the PTAT recordings.

I got to use it last night for 3 back to back programs. 3 hours of programming in 2. No button pushing, except to start a new program. I love it!

This just works with the PTAT recordings.

There's a quote in one of the team summit threads where Charlie indicates that's it's limited to PTAT by choice and that it could be expanded to other programming at a later time.

I thought I read it in a team summit thread, but it's possible I read it in an article related to autohop from Engadget or some other tech news site.

I'll take a look and see if I can find it again and link to it once I'm back home.

My first thought when I experienced my first Auto-Hop recording was, "This is a HUGE game-changer!" My second thought--"When will the first lawsuit be filed and it be taken away from us while it rattles around the courts for years?"

I got it wrong, it wasn't Charlie and not at team summit, but a Dish Representative speaking to a journalist. I think this is where I got it from (or a similar article): Dish's Auto Hop feature makes skipping commercials easier - latimes.com

Here's the pertinent paragraph:

"Interestingly, the Auto Hop is only being offered for use on broadcast networks and not cable channels such as TNT, USA and FX. A Dish representative said more than half of all recorded programs are broadcast shows and that there are no plans to offer the product for cable as well, although the technology would allow for that. Cable channels typically have heavier commercial loads than broadcast television."

So, bottom line, it's currently being limited to PTAT with no expansion plans, but Dish could expand it to other broadcast programming in the future.
