Got my collection of Tivos in 2016 with lifetime. Saved a ton over the cost of the cable company DVR. These days, the Tivos still occupy space, but get used seldomly. Only when the internet goes down. It will be sad to put them out to pasture, but they served my family very well. I actually started with Tivo in 1999. Had it hooked up to my Dish 3900 with IR extender.I wonder if 3.0 is the reason why Tivo stopped selling DVR's.

No, it was because their patents expired. Now they can't keep suing everybody that comes out with a DVR for an income stream.I wonder if 3.0 is the reason why Tivo stopped selling DVR's.

"The Neutral Zone" (Season 1, Episode 26)I couldn't find a reference to the quote by Data in ST:TNG when he stated that TV did not survive past the mid 21st century.
i say it's a money grab!!! who in there right mind is going to pirate the news soaps and crappy talk showsWe may all have to keep Dish Network forever if OTA goes ATSC 3.0 and DRM!
CHARLIE WINS AGAIN!
BTY, NO ONE in my DMA is even experimenting with ATSC 3.0.
If my 5 TiVos can't pick up a signal I'll not bother to buy an ATSC 3.0 tuner, regardless.
I thought how cool it would be to live in the 24th century but no TV? I guess the holodecks and holosuites will fill in the vacuum."The Neutral Zone" (Season 1, Episode 26)

They're not likely to approve a network gateway product at this point since they're using excuses to avoid giving approval to HDHomeRun. They want a locked down system in which people depend on a box on each TV to watch what they want. For those of us in forgotten zones, ATSC3 could be beneficial. For my example, we are 60 miles from the Los Angeles transmitters which are on VHF through UHF channels. The ATSC3 transmissions of the major broadcasters are all (well, mostly) from a 'lighthouse" on real channel 13. Reception is okay but if reception needed improvement, an antenna just for that channel could help.
I await an ATSC3 version of Tablo, which would solve the hit or miss reception of the ATSC1 broadcasts.
