Uplink Activity Report - 01/24/2007 - 274 changes

Still nothing for the Twp My Network TV channels (one in Omaha and one 40 miles away in Lincoln) or Iowas PBS HD.

They must be doing the bigger markets first.

It is so hard to record or know when to watch things with out guide data.

I do a check switch every other day or so hoping for guide data for my local OTA.

Direct TV has GUide data.

Is anyone getting the epg guide info for their subchannels? Some of my locals were listed last week, but have not seen any change. (btw, I have an 811)

same here :( I have a 811 and did a switch test, soft rest and hard reset. Same thing. Our PBS was up today

What sucks is we have 2 PBS's in Market (KTCA 2 & KTCI 17). On the digital channels, 17-1 is the SD version of 2 and 17-2 is 17 (KTCA 2-1 is the National HD channel). So the -1 use to map a while back but now it doesn't :(

Went to set a timer for Soundstage Peter Frampton on PBS.... WKPC4 EPG info is off. Same info as 15.2... WKMJ1 EPG info is off also...

I have 2 pbs's, too, with a total of 4 subchannels that have their guide data listed in last week's activity report, but still just "local digital" listed.

This is the tough part about checking out the activity reports. Lack of sub-channel guide data was always mildly annoying, but not enough to switch providers for, but now that I've gotten this hint that they are doing something to rectify it, I'm getting impatient and more annoyed.

Would this guide data require a software update for a receiver to handle it?

I had data for MyTV and both PBS subchannels as soon as I got home at 5 last night. And I don't think they're doing the bigger markets first. Unless they've gotten all the way to 162 already. I wouldn't consider that I bigger market. 162/210 I say they're getting down to the bottom.

How many channels are on TP30 at 129w? IIRC, there were 4 already and they added two more.

Edit: So they have 5 HD channels on TP30. How the heck are they doing this?

Nice to see they are trying, but these still show "Local Digital" instead of the programming.
Now, if they could just fix the WPBT1 info I would be happy. Currently showing is 'Sesame Street', but guide shows program listings for a West Coast NBC affiliate (Early Today and local news).

Especially being on the 105' satellite.... Maybe the Dish engineers are doing what you or someone else speculated in that they're giving channels bogus names to confuse people. They should certainly throw in something like "HSN HD" or "Oxygen HD". :D

The only issue is they are running in the standard 26000 SR QPSK mode for 105W.

Current NIT doesn't have TC-QPSK flag.

They would not lock this morning on the FTA. I suspect Turbo-QPSK.

Yes folks... they are talking greek.... or is that geek.
Where's the translator tool at ??

I could see them using 105 to test stuff, but it is scary what they could be testing... Do you really think they could be testing 8 HD channels on one TP?!?! The TPs on 105 have more capacity than DBS ones, but still it would be like 6 on a DBS TP... Maybe they are testing the new super MPEG-4 encoder and are trying ~6 Mbit/channel... If so, we could be wishing for the good old days of HD Lite...

I tried 8PSK, Turbo-QPSK, QPSK, and 16AM...with different FEC's. Nothing there. Anyone got a spectrum analyzer to see what's there?
