Weather on the 8's is on my 622!

I hope this is new news (I did the best search I could). I was suprised to see the trigger icon tonight and even more suprised when it actually worked.

Maybe it has, but I've never been able to get it to work on my 622. I'll have to give it another try tonight.

Same here on both my 622 unit....but only one problem....these idiot engineeers still can't get this stupid app to work properly. If i click on the trigger icon, it brings me to the weather app (bottom blue screen with the maps) but both receivers lock up and freeze , have to press front power button to restore channel. Not only twice but three times!!

Not bad, it only took about 2 years since this was introduced. This app should be removed totally unless they come up with the "original" planned local on the 8's similar to cable and get this to work as it should be.

Slightly OT but, when I change to the HD Only Pak, then click on CH 100 weather, will I still be seeing TWC in SD above the weather bar for my town ?

A icon will come up on your screen while watching the Weather Channel. Suppose to coincide when they break away for local weather. Mine happens a little after. Click on the icon it will give you another screen with different options for your local weather. Click cancel or recall to go out of it.
