What to do with a Dish PVR 510?

I just got a steal of a deal for a dish pvr(why not dvr?) 510. I was wondering if theres anything cool to do to it, like upgrade the hard drive or any other mods? And is it possible to add a second remote to it?

Its a pvr because it was one of the new models of the pvr series where you had to pay for the luxury of recording shows onto a hard drive. You can use as many remotes as you like with any of the receivers, they just have to be compatible versions. The only mods you can do legaly is swapping out the hard drive for another, anything else gets into FCC naughty boy area's that is not permitted to be discussed here.

so i have to pay to record shows? I have the 625 right now, i just dont want to have to pay to rent the 625 if i have another dvr (or pvr)

If your subbing to anything less than the AE pack then your paying to use the hard drive, if you dont want to pay to use it then get a 501, 508, 721, or a 921.
