I'm assuming it's only Sabres home games like we Time Warner customers get too, right? Last I heard they have no way of getting the away games in HD on the MSG alternate HD channel.

Yes, since the road games aren't produced in HD by the Sabres/MSG. The only way to see Sabres road games in HD is either getting the opponents HD feed on their channel or if it's a national game on VS or HD Net or NBC.

I am still holding out hope that DTV adds Comcast Sportsnet West in HD. 656-1 is listed in their Access TV Guide, so maybe this month.

From what I've seen it's referring to the channels in England at this time, but I've seen announcments on BBC America saying a HD channel is coming in 2008.

They have consistently said the identical thing this year - UP TO 75 MARKETS.

The important part of the phrases "up to 75 markets" and "up to 100 national channels" is the "up to" part. They could be done right now and get away with it.

Is there any reason to hope beyond these until D11 is operational? Of the above I'd like to see ABC Family soon, if only because my family watches so many Christmas shows.

abc family and espnnews aren't due until around march. i believe the same is true for the disney channels.

i doubt that too much more will be added once the current coming soon channels are launched until directv 11 is up and operational.
