DirecTV should follow the lead of our new President be more transparent about what they plan on adding / deleting, etc.

AFN (Ch. 325) is gone without an explanation now. (not that I actually watch it but WTF?)

AFN website says having technical difficulties with Directv delivery so maybe it will be back

Can someone explain this to me? I'd like some answers, it doesn't make sense to me. Please don't accuse me of complaining or being negative; I'm not, I'm being inquisitive.

DirecTV is adding new infomercial channels rapidly (I think i've spotted 3 this week at least). If they are getting a record amount of new subscribers every year, why do they need the extra money? Also since they're "supposedly" out of bandwidth for new channels that people actually want, how do they keep fitting in these infomercial channels?

Where are you getting your information that they are out of bandwidth? That is an untrue statement from what I've heard.

DirecTv is a business and businesses try to make money. Until the bandwidth is needed or committed to because of a programming contract, then they try to use it to offset other expenses. Nothing wrong with that and it keeps your bills down.

There are probably programming contracts already in place that have already committed some of the "new channel" bandwidth at a future date. So they make the best use of it for now.

I'm in Michigan so Fox Sports Detroit (main and overflow) is on Choice package, no b.s. blackouts

The FSN D feed is (should) never be blacked out, however when they are on ESPN, they will sometimes (usually) be BO because FSN D owns the rights to the game.

actually not, i've seen weeknight games on both ESPN and FSD, neither was blacked out. Its some weird clause in the ESPN contract. However if the Tigers are playing the White Sox and the game is also carried on WGN America, that feed (WGNA's) gets blacked out in Michigan (but not the rest of the country)

In market games are never blacked out, so I get FSD 24/7 :)

I have never had the FSN feed BO, but here in Toledo, only 50 miles away the ESPNfeed in normally BO, I use to try to watch the ESPN feed because it would be in HD and at the time the FSN feed was not, but it is now.

FSD promises 100 Tigers games in HD this season! :)

Doesn't Buckeye Country get STO and FS Ohio too? If so no fair, you got 3 RSN's (well technically 4 if you count the 2 feeds of FS Ohio - Cleveland and Cincinnati).

If Toledo has Tigers games, why doesnt MI have Mudhens games? FSD only cares about pros (and the scarce college games they play maybe once a week if we're lucky). :(

Yes, we get all three here, not sure if all three are available everywhere in Ohio, I doubt it, it took a lot of work to convince D* that FSN D should be available to us here in Toledo, for the longest time they made us pay for it, then they finally gave it to us, but would not release the HD version till I got the guy from FSN D programmer to talk with D* with me ....

fwiw, I'm alot closer than you are even, not sure why they fight it so.
D* kept telling me that it was a team desigin to make my city available .

I know WGN with there current programming would not have much HD? but being able to catch aditional baseball in HD would be nice, any reason why Direct has not added WGN HD?
