CES is not really a place that Dish announces much. Really what we learn out of dish is when Scott gets some of the lower level guys they let out of the building to cough up some info. It just makes them more accessible when they are on the show room floor. I expect nothing more than we already know. 2 new satellites going up to provide MPEG-4 (probably from 77 and 86 single dish solution) in 2008 if the rockets hold together. Showing expansion to 100 channels of HD now and all the new markets they should be able to get on 61.5 when it goes to spot beam. The only new HD may be the announcements of the channels that come out from exclusive launch with DIRECTV to the rest of the providers.
Essentially nothing comes out of CES since Dish does not have to sell anything there. Dish does not have to demo stuff there to get retailers interested in carrying their lines of merchandise.
Team summit is where the real announcements are made. This is where Dish has to convince all the Dish retailers that they should stay Dish retailers and push Dish network. They have to do the selling here, they have to get this audience pumpped up to go out and sell, Sell, SELL! They want to have the marketing and sales answers to show they are going to take care of DIRECTV and cable. This is why the new system was announced at team summit last year. They had the FCC approvals for the slots, they could have said something at CES.
